Fig. 23.44 H┼╕rthle cell tumour ultrasound scan. This transverse scan shows an unusual partly cystic mass in the right lobe of the thyroid in a patient with gradual thyroid enlargement over two years. Fine needle aspiration showed large numbers of H┼╕rthle cells and surgery confirmed a H┼╕rthle cell tumour.
